The three-day festival will bring both established and emerging artists from the USA, Portugal, Norway, Argentina, Iran, Hong Kong, the UK, among other countries. This year will feature the program: Beauty, Sex, and Shame & Chaos Meets Structure, including work from David LaChapelle, Nick Knight, David Bertram, Eva Michon, Wong Ping, Cyriak, Carla Gannis, among others.
A special selection of Marie Schuller’s work will also be featured, along with the WILD project, a photo shoot that will take place at the festival’s closing Gala event at DCTV. For this project, VAEFF aims to revisit old photographs from 1840 to 1920 that represent the controversial and dynamic beginnings of photography to provide a reinterpretation, translation, and recreation of them from the perspective of the digital age.
