Check out an upcoming oversight hearing on the topic of Net Neutrality brought to us by IFP. The hearing will take place on Friday, November 20, 2009 at 10:00am in the Committee Room at City Hall, New York, NY.

The New York City Council Committee on Technology in Government will evaluate the Federal Communications Commission’s(FCC) six principles of Net Neutrality / Open Internet. This goal of this hearing is to seek insight and foster a vibrant discussion regarding these principles, which the FCC seeks to codify. The hearing will assess whether the Net Neutrality principles as articulated would effectively obtain the goal of maintaining a free and open Internet. Lastly, the hearing serves as an opportunity to examine pending Resolution 712A-2007, which asks the FCC and Congress to set firm Net Neutrality standards.
