AIR is searching for 15 creative leaders with ideas that will bring public media to every street corner in America. The winners will have the budget, resources and support to build their projects at public radio and television stations nationwide as part of Localore: Finding America, a $3.2 million production. Finding America is the latest in AIR’s series of producer-led research and development productions, which have an accumulated reach of more than 28 million since 2010. Previous Localore winners have launched enterprises that have spread to tech accelerators, NASA, the Sundance Institute, and public media stations nationwide. Localore: Finding America winners will be given 6-9 month contracts to build their ideas. The competition is open to documentarians, journalists, programmers, storytellers, educators, artists, and entrepreneurs.
